Our story

Founded by Dr. Dennis Edelbrock, the National Trumpet Competition is a 501(c)(3) organization that has been providing an educational outlet for young trumpet players from around the United States. With a yearly competition, masterclasses, and amazing concerts, NTC strives to provide the highest-quality atmosphere to showcase these up-and-coming artists and provide access to some of the world’s premier trumpet artists and faculty.

Inaugurated in 1992, NTC has provided performing opportunities, master classes, exhibition concerts, historic and commercial exhibits, and an educational, supportive environment for more than 14,000 trumpeters from 42 states as well as 6 foreign countries. Hundreds of Artist Faculty members from universities and symphony orchestras around the nation have donated their time and talents to judge these fine young players.
